I P address stand for Internet Protocol address. Every computer having Internet connection has a unique IP address that is some what like a decimal number or binary number, below I have written an example of an I P address.

INTRODUCTION

The IP address is the address which gives us access to all the websites or make us to get information's from anywhere on Internet. Here is an example- If you want to visit "www.google.com" then you will write this URL (Universal Resource Locator) in your web page address and then your computer will send an request through your IP address. So now you may have understand that how much is IP address is Important. An IP address is the address which differentiate the different computers which are connected with the Internet.

How An IP address is written

Now friends as above is a small explanation of an IP address that you have readed. That IP address in written in a special and unique manner. The IP address is different from a normal number or a normal decimal number. It have always four dots or four decimals between the number. And all those number that are separated by dots are written between 0 - 255 . As above is an example of an IP address or here is an other example - '224.156.240.127' Now here you can note that every number is written between 0 - 255. So an IP address is such.

That is why there are a lot of different possible IP address, I have heard somewhere that there are more that 4 billion possible IP address.

The windows 7 & vista users -

 Now when the command prompt will open- 

Now you have to write cmd in the new appeared window of MS - DOS, and then click on  enter button of your keyboard. Now some new texts will come automatically in the MS - DOS. And Now the last step for windows 7 users.


Now at last you have to write ipconfig in your MS - DOS teb. And now the IP address of your computer is infront of you.

Windows XP & 2000 users:-


Windows XP users you also have to do the same but the different you have to do is - you have to write same in the MS - DOS that the windows 7 and Vista users write to know there IP address.


Firstly you have to go to the start tab.
Secondly you have to click on the run programme.
Now type cmd and press enter.
And now write ipconfig and  again press enter. So the IP address of you PC is Infornt of you.
